French Drug Trafficker Arrested in Panama

Joel Soudron, one of the most wanted French drug traffickers, was arrested on Balboa Avenue by 'Linces' motorized agents. The officers requested his documentation to remain in the country. During the check, police officers noticed that Soudron had a fake migration card, and upon a new verification, it was detected that he had an Interpol warrant. Soudron is wanted by the Correctional Tribunal of Créteil, France, to serve a prison sentence for the crimes of unauthorized importation of narcotics, unauthorized transport of drugs, and participation in a criminal organization. The arrested man is described by investigators from France's National Fugitive Investigation Brigade (BNRF) as a very discreet trafficker but with disproportionate financial activities. In February 2016, Soudron was arrested in Mali and imprisoned to serve a six-year prison sentence, but in 2018 he took advantage of a permit granted to him to escape. It was reported that the arrested man will be at the disposal of the Public Ministry and the Judicial Branch for the start of the extradition process to France. French authorities link him to the seizure of 231 kilos of drugs in the port of Le Havre, France, coming from Guadeloupe, a case linked to a criminal structure allegedly led by Soudron. Joel Soudron was first arrested in Mali for international drug trafficking.
