Panamanian Federation to Present New National Team Coach

The Panamanian Basketball Federation will officially present Nelson Colón as the new head coach of the national team. The event will take place at the Panamanian Olympic Committee Auditorium. Colón, an experienced coach, will replace Argentine Gonzalo García and lead the team in upcoming international tournaments.


Panamanian Federation to Present New National Team Coach

The Panamanian Basketball Federation (Fepaba) will officially present Nelson Colón as the new head coach of the National Team in this sport. The official event is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, at 10:30 AM, in the Auditorium of the Panamanian Olympic Committee, in Llanos de Curundu. Colón will replace Argentine Gonzalo García, under whose leadership Panama left with a 0-2 record in Group D of the World Cup Qualifiers alongside Argentina, Uruguay, and Cuba. The new Panama coach comes with an impressive resume, including serving as Head Coach of the Puerto Rico National Team (2021–2024), at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the FIBA World Cup 2023, and as coach of the Santurce Crabbers (appointed in 2024). Additionally, he has been a four-time champion of the Puerto Rico Superior National Basketball (BSN) league (2014, 2015, 2020, 2022).
