Panama vs. Nicaragua: A Step Towards the U-17 World Cup

Today, Tuesday, Panama will seek its qualification for the U-17 World Cup when it faces Nicaragua in a match corresponding to Group B of the Concacaf Pre-World Cup. The match is scheduled for 8:00 PM at the COS Sports Plaza in Panama City. Both Panama and Nicaragua have six points after winning their first two matches. However, the team led by former international player Felipe Baloy has a better goal difference of +11, while the Nicaraguans have +9. The Panama national team only needs a draw against Nicaragua to secure first place in the group and a spot in the World Cup. If the qualification is confirmed, it would be the fifth time that Panama advances to a World Cup in this category. Panama has qualified for the U-17 World Cup in 2011, 2013, 2023, and 2025. Just like last year, the U-17 World Cup will be held this year in Qatar. In the first match of this Pre-World Cup tournament, Panama defeated Dominica last Thursday 6-1. In this match, Panama's attack was led by Thiago Chalmers, who scored three goals. Oliver Pinzón, Alexander Tull, and Arian Reyes also scored. In the national team's second match, played last Saturday, Panama defeated Anguilla 6-0.
