The complaints of alleged forgery in land disputes against former deputy Daniel Ramos Tuñón continue to accumulate. The law firm Moncada Abogados filed a new lawsuit before the Public Ministry, accusing him of three crimes, including document forgery. This was confirmed by the president of the firm, José Antonio Moncada, who also presented the case on La Verdad Panamá.
In the midst of the controversy, former deputy Ramos Tuñón broke his silence on a Radio Station in Penonomé, a station identified as being aligned with his political party, according to Moncada. The lawyer explained that during his intervention, Ramos Tuñón denied the accusations against him but avoided responding to specific allegations regarding the alleged use of false information in a land dispute process.
According to the lawsuit filed, the former deputy allegedly initiated litigation including erroneous data about the owner of a property, in order for the process to take place without the knowledge of the true owners. This strategy would have allowed him to gain an advantage in the process and improperly appropriate land.
The Moncada Abogados firm has requested the accumulation of the file in which there is already another lawsuit against Ramos Tuñón. In that case, witnesses for the former deputy have been accused of providing false statements in a statute of limitations trial, which has been part of a strategy to expand the former deputy's control over lands in Penonomé. Furthermore, the lawyer reported acts of intimidation against his clients, retired individuals and those in vulnerable conditions.
Another aspect that has raised alarms in this case is the indication that, during the previous government, the former deputy allegedly managed strategic appointments to facilitate alleged irregularities in land dispute processes. Among the reported actions is the supposed modification of names in lawsuits and the obstruction of access to key information in the National Land Administration Authority (ANATI).
The case against Daniel Ramos Tuñón remains in the hands of the Public Ministry, and it is expected that the steps to follow in the investigation will be determined in the coming days. Meanwhile, the complaints of alleged forgery and abuses in land disputes continue to grow, and those affected are calling for justice against what they consider a scheme of dispossession and legal manipulation.
