Panama - A vessel conducting fishing activities was towed on Tuesday by units from the Special Boats Battalion (BATBBEE) of the Limones surveillance post, in Barú (Chiriquí), after it suffered mechanical failures. According to the National Border Service (Senafront), the Galfun I, dedicated to longline fishing, was dragged by a strong current and was adrift in the waters of Puerto Armuelles, prompting an alert call. As the incident posed a risk to the safety of the vessel and its crew, border guards proceeded with the rescue and securing of the vessel before towing it to a safe port.
