Businessman of the Year 2025 in Panama

The 'Juventud Agro Panamá' association named David Virzi 'Businessman of the Year 2025'. Young leaders and producers were also honored, including José Fernando Gil from Bocas del Toro, who won the 'Young Producer' award.

This week, businessman David Virzi was named 'Businessman of the Year 2025' at the gala organized by the Association 'Juventud Agro Panamá'. The association held the first edition of the 'Young Producer' awards this year, which was held in Santiago, Veraguas province. At the first event, they brought together 45 young people involved in the sector. Virzi, in turn, thanked for the recognition and highlighted the work carried out by the youth in this productive sector. 'We continue to work for a stronger, modern and full of opportunities agriculture for Panama,' he commented. José Maure was also highlighted as a young leader in the Azuero region, who has been working to achieve the participation of more young people in the sector. Among the evaluation criteria were transformations, contribution to their community, to the country, and the positive aspect of the agricultural sector. 'This agriculture is new to me since I don't come from an agricultural family, but three years ago I was given the opportunity to get into that sector and since then it has been many experiences,' said Gil. Juventud Agro Panamá hopes these awards will become a tradition. According to Juventud Agro, Virzi is an ally of the agricultural sector, believes in its potential and works hand in hand with the generational change that drives the future of the Panamanian countryside. At this gala, José Fernando Gil, a banana producer from Bocas del Toro, was also recognized, who became the winner of the 'Young Producer' award.
