Inspections in Soná's Transport

Veraguas authorities have launched transport inspections in Soná following user complaints. Every complaint is being analyzed to improve service quality and system organization.

The transit authorities expect that the inspections will clarify the complaints and improve the quality of service in one of the fastest-growing districts in the province of Veraguas.

Alcides González, a former transport leader in Soná, indicated that part of the public's dissatisfaction arises because some routes do not operate according to the operations manual approved by the ATTT.

«Soná is advancing, and it is normal that adjustments in public transport occur during the process», he stated.

However, he assured that the changes are due to the district's growth and the need to improve the system's organization.

It was reiterated that complaints must be submitted in writing for proper processing.

Meanwhile, Hermín Vega, a board member of one of the Soná district's routes, acknowledged that users' discomfort has increased since the opening of the new terminal.

Meanwhile, some users—who requested to keep their identities anonymous to avoid retaliation—asked the ATTT to expand the investigations and include other alleged irregularities they claim occur within the transport system.

From the terminal administration, it was reported that the operation is handled in accordance with current legislation, but any formal complaint will be reviewed.

Each complaint is being analyzed, and a schedule of inspections has been organized at the Soná terminal to verify the reported claims.

The constant complaints posted on social media by users and residents of the Soná district about alleged irregularities in the transport service led the Transit and Land Transport Authority (ATTT) in Santiago to establish an inspection plan to verify the situation.

Juan Manuel Guevara, regional director of the ATTT, explained that although most complaints have not been formally filed, the institution addresses the reports arising from digital platforms.

«There are carriers who prefer to pick up foreigners, leaving local residents waiting for long hours or simply without service».

However, other voices in the sector warn of deeper problems.

«The rules are there to be followed», he stated.
