By disassembling and comparing different models, it becomes clear that not all TVs marketed as 'QLED' are actually QLED. In a demonstration workshop with media and influencers, Samsung explained that only one TV meets the three principles that define a Real Quantum Dot TV: the presence of an authentic Quantum Dot layer, a high concentration of these nanocrystals, and a blue backlight capable of generating pure colors. Thanks to this, every scene is displayed with the depth, brightness, and contrast that the creator envisioned. Color spectrum measurements confirm the difference: while TVs without Quantum Dots show irregular peaks and wide bandwidths, Samsung QLED TVs offer precise and defined wavelengths for the three primary colors. The Quantum Dot (QD) layer converts blue light into a range of vibrant, defined colors, while the diffuser plate and optical sheet distribute that light evenly to achieve balanced brightness across the entire screen. Unlike conventional LED TVs, which rely on additional filters to compensate for the loss of purity in tones, Samsung's QLED leverages the efficiency of the blue backlight and the power of nanocrystals, reducing color distortion and elevating visual fidelity. The heart of the system is complemented by the AI Processor, which is responsible for intelligently adjusting the image and sound according to the environment, and for optimizing the TV's performance through machine learning. This superiority is supported by over a decade of development with cadmium-free Quantum Dots, safe and sustainable materials that allow for the reproduction of 100% of the color volume, a certification awarded by TÜV Rheinland.
The precision engineering behind absolute color During the teardown, it is evident how each component of the TV works in harmony to create images of exceptional precision. Samsung has once again opened up its technology to show what is really inside a QLED TV. From the backlight to the processor, each layer of the QLED was designed to amplify light rather than lose it, achieving a perfect balance between brightness, efficiency, and durability. In this way, Samsung maintains its leadership in the premium screen category, not only for what is seen on the outside, but for what happens inside: a synergy between science and design that makes the difference between a TV that 'claims to be' QLED and one that actually is.
Samsung debunks the truth behind QLED TVs.
The result is natural tones, purer blacks, and an immersive experience that no traditional LED can match. This combination of engineering, advanced materials, and precise control represents the culmination of years of continuous innovation.
