Cobre Panamá and Colon Municipality Sign Collaboration Agreement

To strengthen initiatives that promote the social, educational, and economic progress of the district, Cobre Panamá and the Municipality of the Omar Torrijos Herrera district in Colón province have officially formalized an agreement that establishes the basis for a strategic inter-institutional collaboration. Through this alliance, Cobre Panamá and the Omar Torrijos Herrera Municipality reaffirm their commitment to building a more prosperous and sustainable future for the region, with positive effects that will transcend future generations. During the signing, municipal authorities highlighted that this collaboration comes at a key moment for the district, as it will allow them to strengthen initiatives that will directly impact the population through the technical and social support that both parties will provide. We are confident that 2026 will mark a new era of development for the region, and this memorandum reflects the union of efforts that will allow us to advance towards a more prosperous future, — highlighted Eulalio Yanguēz, Mayor of the Omar Torrijos Herrera district. We have analyzed where we could improve communication, and today it is clear that when the municipality, the council, and Cobre Panamá work in coordination, great things can be achieved. Among its main objectives, the document establishes: • An initial term of 6 months, extendable, during which both parties will develop coordinated actions according to the district's needs. • An exclusively community-oriented character, meaning that all resulting initiatives will be jointly defined by the Municipality and the company, focused on providing real solutions to the population. • Strengthen education, culture, environment, technology, and social development through programs that generate real opportunities. • Accompany and collaborate on the promotion of municipal projects aligned with the district's priorities, especially those that foster social infrastructure, training, and community well-being. • Promote the region's sustainable development by integrating good environmental practices and actions that improve the quality of life. • Drive cultural, tourism, artisanal, and entrepreneurial activities to boost the local economy and support families dependent on these activities. The document consolidates an alliance aimed at uniting capabilities, resources, and efforts to promote the district's priority projects, as well as new actions that respond to local needs. Our objective is clear: to work with the authorities and residents to generate opportunities, employment, and improve the quality of life, by resuming important projects that have been pending.
