IMA Director Announces Naviferias and Christmas Basket Sale Details

IMA Director Nilo Murillo announced the start of the Naviferias in three provinces, with 500,000 discounted hams for sale. Cash payments are accepted, with plans for cards and Yappy in the future.

Nilo Murillo, director of the Agricultural Marketing Institute (IMA), stated that there is a positive attitude from the local agribusiness. According to him, "they have certified that they will meet the figures they have proposed to us." Murillo also assured that the IMA is prepared for the "Naviferias," which will start on December 2nd simultaneously in the provinces of Chiriquí, Herrera, and Los Santos, "to be able to attend to all the points that the institution plans to visit." "I have already signed the Yappy system, which saves us time, and we are planning card payments, but this time it will be in cash," Murillo announced. "We have averaged that the state's compensation for this is 18 dollars." He detailed that during the Naviferias, there will be 500,000 pieces of picnic ham with bones, of which 300,000 are nationally produced and 200,000 were purchased from national distributors "which are obviously brought from abroad." He specified that the Christmas basket will be sold for $15, but its commercial value would be around 33 dollars. The IMA will soon include card payments and the Yappy system as payment methods at its agricultural fairs, as announced by Nilo Murillo, director of the IMA. "These include El Valle de Antón, Río Hato, Jagüito, Palenque in Colón, and it includes Gobernadora Island in Veraguas," he detailed. "It is 21 more points that we are attending this year." Additionally, the director of the IMA said that the institution uses a QR code to control sales and ensure that only one piece of ham is sold per residence.
