Ford Introduces New Edge 2026 in Panama with Hybrid Engine and Three Rows

Ford has officially launched the new Edge 2026 in Panama. This completely redesigned midsize SUV introduces a hybrid powertrain and a three-row seating layout for the first time, offering greater versatility.

The main highlight is the hybrid system, which provides an impressive driving range of up to 1,100 kilometers. Rosángela Guerra, General Director of Ford for Central America and the Caribbean, emphasized the vehicle's significance in the local market.

«Ford has left a deep mark with utility vehicles globally, and in Panama, the Edge has been an essential part of that journey as a recognized and memorable SUV for our customers. Today, that story evolves with more space, efficient mobility, and innovation,» Guerra stated.

The new model is powered by a 2.0L GTDI hybrid engine that generates up to 271 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque, striking a balance between performance and fuel efficiency. It is available in two trims: Trend and Titanium, both equipped with a hybrid powertrain and five exterior color options.

The exterior design has been completely refreshed, featuring a redesigned grille, LED headlights and taillights, and new wheels up to 20 inches that accentuate its sleek and modern silhouette. The Titanium trim comes with standard all-wheel drive (4WD), while the Trend is available with front-wheel drive (2WD).

The interior prioritizes comfort with high-quality materials and a premium sound system featuring up to 12 speakers. Technology is central to the cabin, with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 13.2-inch touchscreen managing the SYNC® 4 infotainment system. The driver's seat offers eight-way power adjustment, and the front passenger seat has six positions.

Advanced driver-assist technologies enhance safety and include features like Hill Start Assist, a Rear View Camera, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®), Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane-Keeping System. The Titanium trim also includes a One Touch Anti Stress function that reclines the seat and raises the footrest for ultimate relaxation.
