San Miguelito Mayor Accuses Company of Declining Waste Collection Efficiency

Mayor Irma Hernández stated that Revisalud's efficiency has plummeted from 75% to under 40%. The municipality has launched 'Mission Cleaning' and is preparing to replace the operator with a new, stricter contract.

The mayor of San Miguelito, Irma Hernández, announced that the waste collection company Revisalud has dropped its efficiency from 75% to below 40% since November 22. Hernández described the situation as inhumane and unacceptable for the district's residents. She emphasized that the current contract with the company is still in force and binds it to its responsibilities. The mayor demanded clarity from the company to be prepared and to prevent the crisis from recurring. To address the issue, the 'Mission Cleaning' operation has been launched, under which the municipality will deploy more personnel and equipment to compensate for the contractor's failures. At the same time, the district administration is conducting a tender to find a new operator. According to Hernández, the technical specifications for the new contract include over forty performance indicators, whereas the current contract is only three pages long. The new contract stipulates a clear penalty system, including the possibility of termination for repeated misconduct. The mayor stated she will be fining residents who do not comply with the established waste collection schedule. She added that the transition to a new operator will be a traumatic process, but it is necessary to create a truly useful and sustainable system for the district of San Miguelito.
