For this Monday, December 1st, the submission of proposals by companies was scheduled, but a last-minute addendum set a new date. In the green zone, which includes part of José Domingo Espinar and all of Rufina Alfaro, quotations were received from four companies. For this part of the district, Consorcio Alianza por San Miguelito, Roca Atlántica, and Grupo Barosh, S.A. showed interest, with the latter presenting the most economical proposal at $1.4 million. The contract with the company Revisalud expires after the first half of January. Grupo Barosh, S.A. and Roca Atlántica, S.A. also participated, with the latter presenting the most economical offer at $905,000. This is the sixth addendum to the public act called last July 31st. These companies are Interaseo, S.A., Volquetes y Transporte Corro, Consorcio Alianza por San Miguelito, and Eco-Septic Panamá, Corp. Volquetes y Transporte Corro presented the least costly proposal at $1.28 million. During this transition, which will begin once the concession to Revisalud ends, the district will be divided into three zones so that a provisional concessionaire can operate in each. The last zone is identified with the color orange and includes Arnulfo Arias Madrid, Belisario Porras, Belisario Frías, and part of the districts of Omar Torrijos and José D. Espinar. The new date will now be Friday, December 19th. The companies in charge of waste collection will perform the service for a period of six months. It has not yet been said if the deadline could be extended, in case the new concession, which will last for two decades, has not been formalized by July 2026. In the blue zone, which includes Victoriano Lorenzo, Amelia Denis de Icaza, part of Omar Torrijos, and the Mateo Iturralde district, three companies showed interest.
