The Panamanian Association of Business Executives (APEDE) has launched a new economic connection between Panama and South Africa, guiding the Panamanian business sector towards a strategic path of investments and trade. This initiative seeks to open up real opportunities in a continent full of potential and growth.
This all took place during Panama Week 2025, an event that is mobilizing Panama's private sector to connect with one of the world's most promising economic continents. The Panamanian delegation was led with firm resolve. Giulia De Sanctis, President of APEDE, headed the mission alongside Board Advisor Temístocles Rosas, representing the business vision of a Panama that wants to compete at the highest level, with economic diplomacy, strategy, and openness.
At the economic forum held in Pretoria, De Sanctis spoke clearly about the Business and Investment Climate in Panama, highlighting the country's key strengths: a logistics hub that connects sea, air, and fiber optics; macroeconomic stability; the use of the US dollar; a solid banking sector; and the SEM and EMMA regimes, which remain magnets for foreign investment.
«For APEDE, it is an honor to represent the Panamanian business sector at a time when the world is seeking new routes of cooperation. Panama and Africa share a vision, opportunities, and the energy to build together a future of innovation, investment, and sustainable growth,» De Sanctis expressed before ministers, investors, and South African business leaders.
In turn, Temístocles Rosas reinforced the message: Panama is a country with open doors, with legal security, stability, and a privileged location that makes it a platform for African companies wanting to enter the Latin American market.
Throughout the week, Panama Week 2025—organized by the Embassy of Panama in South Africa as part of 30 years of bilateral relations—has hosted forums on banking, maritime logistics, tourism, trade, and investment, as well as cultural and sporting events to continue bridging gaps and opening paths between both territories.
With this participation, APEDE demonstrates that Panama is not only a bridge between oceans but also between continents, driving talent, competitiveness, and new opportunities that can shape the country's economic future.
