Panama has already received approximately 38,000 Christmas trees, distributed in containers that carry between 400 and 1,000 trees each. The majority comes from Canada and has been subject to strict phytosanitary controls, reported the Ministry of Agricultural Development (Mida).
Inspections at Each Port
Inspection procedures are carried out at the entry ports, ensuring that all trees arrive free of pests. The authorities maintain constant monitoring to protect local agriculture and ensure that families can enjoy their celebrations without risks.
Start of the Season
The entry of these first containers was recorded from mid-November, and since then, registration and verification protocols have been strictly followed. This control ensures that the import is orderly, planned, and safe for the country.
Flawless Christmas Preparations
With these shipments, Panama reinforces the tradition of decorating homes with natural pines while protecting national agricultural production. Families can begin to choose their little trees with peace of mind, knowing they comply with all current health regulations.
