Super 99 Employees to Receive 10% of Annual Profits

Panama's former president Ricardo Martinelli announced that Super 99 supermarket employees will receive a 10% share of the company's net profits. This is part of an aggressive expansion plan and aims to reward staff for their work. Martinelli also called on other companies to follow his lead.


Former president and businessman Ricardo Martinelli announced on Monday that employees of the Super 99 supermarket chain will receive a percentage of this year's net profit this month. According to the former head of state, 10% of the profits will be shared among the thousands of employees of the supermarket chain. This year, the chain has had an aggressive expansion plan with new branches and others remodeled for the convenience of its thousands of customers. The former president has repeatedly emphasized his contributions to the economy, especially to job creation in the private sector. Regarding the supermarket business, Super 99 positions itself as the largest chain in the country with multiple establishments throughout the national geography. Martinelli urged other companies to take similar initiatives for the benefit of their employees, which represent a reward for their effort and dedication throughout the year. Previously, Martinelli had stated that this expansion plan includes six new supermarkets, both nationally and internationally. The businessman also recalled that Christmas is a time to share and give thanks for the blessings of the year. In this sense, he emphasized that they will also hold a party with gifts for the poor children of SonĂ¡. He also specified the work his foundation does by granting scholarships to students, providing meals to the Oncology Hospital, and to the inmates of La Mega Joya prison.
