The Panamanian government has extended discounted electricity tariffs for customers of the EDECHI company in the provinces of Chiriquí, Bocas del Toro, and the Ngäbe Buglé comarca until June 30, 2026. This extension follows the scheme adopted by the State through Cabinet Resolution No. 60 of June 23, 2015, and aims to alleviate the economic burden on households and businesses in the region.
"This measure is designed to support families and businesses in the area," stated the government in an official release.
The decision affects users who were previously benefiting from the discounts under the Western Tariff Fund (FTO).
