Panama Customs Generates $1.3B in 2025

Panama Customs closed 2025 with revenue of $1.30099 million, a 5 % increase over the previous period. This result highlights the effectiveness of customs controls and revenue-collection operations. Throughout the year, several operational campaigns were launched, focusing on detecting smuggling and improving port logistics. The data reflects the government's commitment to fiscal security and transparency.

The operation "Navidad sin Contrabando" took place on October 15 and seized more than 2,597,371 balboas. Additionally, 52 seizures of counterfeit goods were carried out, along with confiscation of alcohol and other items. These actions are part of a set of operations aimed at protecting the national economy and ensuring compliance with regulations.

For 2026, Customs plans to continue monitoring maritime terminals and strengthen security at port terminals. The Customs Logistics Integration Program at the Panama‑Costa Rica border will also be inaugurated, in cooperation with the Joint Declaration of the EU, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

"Navidad sin Contrabando" achieved a record seizure that significantly contributed to the increase in customs revenue. Sheila Hernández, an advisor to senior management, stated that the results are due to the effectiveness of the operations and the strengthening of controls.
