The year 2026 begins by presenting new options for construction workers, following an agreement between the Savings Bank and Mitradel that will bring the most anticipated benefits to this sector, which has historically affected thousands of families unable to aspire to having their own home.

Speaking on behalf of the workers, Luis Ángel Rodriguez Santana stated that this news will fill a void for thousands of construction workers and acknowledges that this program will bring multiple benefits to all.

For his part, President José Raúl Mulino pointed out that the "Juan Albañil" project, as he calls it, is of transcendent importance for workers and has required great efforts to bring them into the banking system.

"Dignified employment is achieved with projects that have a vision for the country, and this is one that will bring great satisfaction," he reiterated.

Meanwhile, the manager of the Savings Bank, Andrés Farrugia, Jr., expressed his satisfaction at being able to help thousands of workers with mortgage benefits through this option.

"This marks a before and after, allowing for historical steps with the class of construction workers," said Farrugia, who added that the sector had been excluded from financial benefits for years, so bringing them into the banking system is a concrete step of action and shared social justice in service of the workers who have been affected by financial exclusion.

The official announcement of the new project also included the Minister of the Presidency, Juan Carlos Orillac, the president of CONATO, Anciano Pinzón, and members of different worker sectors, who showed their pleasure with the new announcement, which brings more stability for Panamanian families.

"It's a great achievement," said Mulino, adding that this year will be a record one.

In turn, the Minister of Labor, Jackeline Muñoz, stated that the agreement brings the benefits and dreams that were never prioritized in the sector and that the workers deserve, who have built this country based on family efforts and did not have the opportunity.
