AAUD Collects Over 953 Tons of Waste in San Miguelito

The Urban and Domestic Cleaning Authority (AAUD) reported that after three consecutive days of work, it has collected 953 tons of solid waste in the district of San Miguelito, equivalent to 2,100,635 pounds, as part of an operation focused on cleaning and recovering public spaces. On the third day of operations alone, the entity collected 386.94 tons of garbage, thanks to a reinforced logistical deployment that includes more than 40 dump trucks, 20 excavators, and compactors, as specified by the AAUD. The Belisario Frías area remains the sector with the highest collection volume, registering 117.4 tons of waste.

Operational Challenges

Despite the progress, the AAUD acknowledged that the operation has faced additional challenges, mainly in addressing critical points located in hard-to-access areas, where narrow roads and the physical conditions of the environment limit the maneuverability of heavy equipment and collection vehicles, slowing down the work.
