Panama launches a new agricultural training center. The CEAGRO-AIP project, led by President José Raúl Mulino, has reached a key milestone with the installation of its board of directors. The center, based in Ciudad del Saber, will start with a group of 100 scholarship students selected from over 450 pre-registrations nationwide. The initiative aims to address the shortage of skilled technicians in Panama's agricultural sector. Training will follow a blended model: 60% practical work in fields and private companies, and 40% theory. The two-year programs cover agriculture, livestock, agribusiness, farm mechanization, and business management, with a focus on modern technology like drones and sensor systems. The model is planned to be expanded to provinces like Chiriquí and Darién. During its first meeting, the board appointed Dr. Inés Sittón Candanedo as the acting director of the center.
