The Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA) staff in the Colón region have made progress in the genetic improvement of cattle. Two farms in the province benefited from the "Better Bull" program. The visits, carried out by technicians from the Lago Gatún Agency and the Livestock Coordination, are part of the follow-up that the institution provides to this important program, which aims to improve the genetic quality of cattle herds. As a result of the follow-up, technicians confirmed 26 births, 14 females and 12 males, of the BeefMaster and Brahman breeds. This program provides technical support to cattle producers, promoting programs that contribute to strengthening the livestock sector and the sustainable development of cattle farming in the province of Colón. Livestock farming is carried out in the Transisthmus, Costa Abajo, Costa Arriba, and Lago Gatún areas.
