Panama at the Heart of Global Economic Decisions

Panama demonstrates its reliability and strategic significance by participating in key global forums. This position attracts investment, creates jobs, and strengthens the country's international image, turning it into a hub for regional business opportunities.

This is not about symbolic presence or protocolary diplomacy; it is about a country's vision to insert Panama into the heart of global economic decision-making, and the results are already being felt. Panama demonstrates that it can be a reliable and strategic space where ideas are discussed and initiatives with regional impact are promoted. We know that these spaces do not by themselves solve the country's challenges, but they do generate real impacts: more investment, more employment, more business connections, and an international projection that strengthens the Panama brand. Panama's recent participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos is part of a clear and deliberate strategy to position the country as a central hub where investments prosper and this translates into well-being for Panamanians. That momentum is reflected at home this week: Panama is once again hosting the International Economic Forum for Latin America and the Caribbean, organized by CAF, in its second edition. Following Davos, conversations have been activated with investors, multilateral organizations, and international companies interested in Panama as a regional platform. In short, we have the conditions, the experience, and the talent: Panama has it all. Within the framework of the CAF event, the Chamber will be holding meetings with more than ten international delegations, with the aim of strengthening ties, exploring investment opportunities, and promoting Panama as a regional business platform. Davos reinforced a key message: Panama not only connects markets, it connects opportunities. That this Forum is held again in Panama, and that it also has its permanent headquarters here, is no coincidence. Each of these gatherings dynamizes the economy, activates key sectors such as tourism, commerce, and services, and opens concrete opportunities for our companies. From the Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture of Panama, we are assuming an active role at this key moment. In the coming months and throughout 2026, Panama will host major international fairs, business meetings, and multilateral events that will continue to strengthen this international positioning strategy. An event that will bring together more than 2,500 global leaders—six heads of state, ministers, vice-ministers, authorities, businesspeople, investors, and experts from more than 20 countries—and that is beginning to consolidate itself as the 'Davos of Latin America'. There is follow-up on projects, greater interest in strategic sectors, and a clear signal of confidence in the country's stability, connectivity, and potential. Likewise, the Chamber will receive and attend to several of the heads of state visiting our country on the occasion of this important forum, reaffirming the role of the private sector as a strategic partner in the country's development agenda. Being at the center of the global conversation is an opportunity that requires vision, consistency, and joint work. The public and private sectors must continue to move hand in hand to turn this visibility into concrete results for Panamanians. It responds to our air connectivity, our infrastructure, our geographical position, and the country's ability to facilitate dialogue and action. From our perspective, we see this moment with responsible optimism. But this Forum does not arrive alone.
