Panama Separates Electricity and Waste Management Bills

San Miguelito, Panama. Panamanian authorities have reformed the utility payment system. Starting in March 2026, the electricity company ENSA will no longer collect waste management fees. These two payments will now be separated to prevent confusion for consumers. The February electricity bill will already show separate charges for waste collection. This is not a new fee or a hidden rate increase. ENSA acted as a collection agent for the waste management service on behalf of AAUD. This function has now been officially transferred to the Urban and Domestic Waste Authority (AAUD). Users with outstanding debts on this service must contact AAUD directly by phone, WhatsApp, or official email. ENSA concluded that it will keep its clients informed and ensure the process is transparent.
