The Central American Tourism Promotion Agency (CATA) and the Country Brand Foundation have formalized a Letter of Understanding to strengthen the strategic management and reputation of the 'Centroamérica' brand. The initiative is backed by the Central American Integration System (SICA). This brand represents the region's cultural, natural, and human wealth, positioning it as a highly competitive, sustainability-focused tourist multidestination. The president of the Country Brand Foundation stated that the goal is to provide the necessary know-how to increase the perceived value of the 'Centroamérica' brand among international travelers and investors. The work plan derived from this alliance includes co-marketing actions, digital dissemination campaigns, and collaboration in strategic data analysis. Boris Iraheta, Secretary General of CATA, emphasized that this agreement will allow for the integration of international standards and best practices to solidify the region's positioning in strategic tourist markets. The collaboration will focus on developing specialized training, detailed analysis of reputation indicators, and the exchange of technical knowledge, in addition to coordinated dissemination across various strategic communication platforms. The Secretary General of CATA also noted that Central America has a consolidated regional brand that faithfully reflects the diversity of its nations. José María Cubillo, in turn, highlighted that image management is a fundamental piece for successfully competing in the global tourism arena. These measures are aimed at maximizing the visibility of the Central American bloc and fostering comprehensive tourism development in the member states of SICA. The 'Centroamérica' brand, originally established in 2002 and renewed in 2017, functions as the community seal that identifies the istmus abroad.
