«This is only achieved by being present, listening, and speaking face to face,» highlighted Maru Gálvez, Public Relations Manager of Cobre Panamá. Over 350,000 people have been reached in the last two years, reflecting a sustained growth in citizen interest and interaction. «When you see thousands participating and asking questions, you know the conversation is changing.» Cobre Panamá closed the first quarter of 2026 with over 82,000 people reached nationwide, following its participation in fairs, cultural events, and interactive spaces in different regions of the country. At the International Fair of David, one of the country's most attended events, the booth exceeded 15,000 visits, tripling the number recorded in 2025. Of that total, over 5,300 people used the virtual reality simulator, cementing it as one of the most participatory spaces of the event. To these results is added the participation in the International Fair of La Chorrera, with over 2,400 attendees, as well as the presence at the Colón 2000 Duty Free and Megamall shopping centers, where more than 6,000 people visited these spaces for direct dialogue with citizens, supported by tools like the water use model and the virtual assistant CoCo. Participation also extended to high-value cultural events such as the Parade of a Thousand Polleras and the Flower and Coffee Fair in Boquete, adding up to more than 18,000 people in these traditional and tourist spaces of the country. Beyond the figures, the level of public engagement stands out. Topics such as water use, environmental impact, job opportunities, and benefits for the country remain among the main queries, reflecting a growing interest in accessing direct information. «People don't stay out of curiosity, they stay because they want to understand. People approach, participate, and seek to understand. In that context, the first quarter balance confirms that bringing information generates a response, managing to bring together thousands of people across the country around a conversation that today takes place with more interest, more questions, and greater participation.»
