The Chamber of Commerce, Industries, and Agriculture of Panama renewed its Board of Directors and stated that the country is facing a critical moment that requires immediate action. This message was led by its president, Aurelio Barría Pino, who assured that the guild's commitment is to move from words to concrete results. The leader pointed out that Panama is going through a stage of important transformations, where steps have been taken to get the house in order, strengthen confidence, and create a foundation for growth. He also reiterated his willingness to work with state bodies and other sectors. The president insisted that results will be measured by execution and not by speeches, highlighting that the guild seeks to generate a real impact. He emphasized that the responsibility of the private sector goes beyond the economy and also implies a direct commitment to society. In this new stage, the Chamber of Commerce will focus its management on actions such as the implementation of the Internship Law to create opportunities for young people, strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem, attracting investments, and improving services to its members. Among them, he mentioned the reopening of the mine under a balanced legal framework, access to water, quality education, job generation, and the promotion of tourism. He also raised the issue of corruption, stating that it is a cross-cutting problem that weakens any development attempt if not faced with determination. Barría Pino stressed that development must be well-made growth, with companies that comply with the law, generate decent jobs, and contribute to the country. He highlighted that fiscal discipline, institutional strengthening, and international credibility are key to boosting investment and employment. However, he warned that there are issues that cannot continue to wait. He recalled that in difficult times, the Chamber has stepped forward, prioritizing the national interest above all else.
