AMP Implements Maritime Labor Convention

The Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) is using the Automatic Identification System and Long-Range Identification and Tracking System to accurately monitor Panamanian vessels. Thanks to these tools, a rigorous monitoring of the vessels registered in the country is carried out.

According to statements from the AMP, it has committed to implementing an international convention on maritime labor. This measure aims to ensure fair and safe working conditions for workers on board vessels. By using specialized technology, the AMP demonstrates its commitment to maritime safety and compliance with international labor regulations.

"We are working to ensure that seafarers operating under the Panamanian flag enjoy decent working conditions and respect for their rights," stated a representative of the Panama Maritime Authority. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country's maritime industry and maintain high standards of quality and safety in the sector.
