The Ministry of Economy and Finance of Panama (MEF) reported that it will include in the budget the increases in expenses required by law, such as the 7% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) allocated to the education sector and the allocation of resources to local governments.
In this regard, the MEF assured that all legal requirements will be considered in the budget for the upcoming fiscal period. They highlighted the importance of fulfilling these financial obligations for the benefit of education and the operation of local administrations.
"It is essential to guarantee the necessary resources for vital sectors such as education and local entities. Therefore, we are working on budget planning to include all the increases in expenditures established by law," stated a representative of the MEF.
These measures aim to ensure that educational institutions and local governments have the necessary funds to operate effectively and provide quality services to the population. The MEF committed to continue working on the development of a budget that reflects these priorities and complies with current legal provisions.
