The Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA) will present the impacts on the agricultural sector to the Cabinet Council. Regarding this issue, it is reported that 543 hectares of rice are insured with problems in the provinces of Chiriquí, Coclé, Herrera, Los Santos, Veraguas, and Panamá Este.
In connection with this matter, there is concern for these affected areas, which will be raised to the corresponding authorities in order to seek solutions and support for the affected farmers and producers. According to official statements, it is expected that the necessary measures will be taken to mitigate the damage suffered in the agricultural sector due to various factors that have impacted rice production in these areas.
"It is important that concrete actions are taken to safeguard agricultural production in these regions, as climatic adversities and other factors have generated significant difficulties for rice producers," stated a representative of the agricultural sector. The presentation of these impacts to the Cabinet Council aims to make the current situation of the sector visible and promote the adoption of measures that can contribute to its swift recovery.
