The National Institute of Aqueducts and Sewers (Idaan) has once again presented itself to the Budget Commission seeking a transfer of funds totaling approximately 32 million dollars to acquire necessary chemicals. This is the second time the transfer has been suspended, this time due to arriving with a certification from the Comptroller General of the Republic just at noon, which prevented the operation despite the urgency.
Deputies Jonathan Vega and Rafael Buchanan pointed out that, although the funds were already committed, precise documents were missing to support it, leading to the decision to postpone the transfer until the next day. Rutilio Villarreal, director of Idaan, expressed his regret over the situation, finding himself caught in a dispute between the Comptroller's Office and the Ministry of Economy and Finance. However, he remains optimistic that the issue will be resolved by the next day.
The requested transfer of funds is crucial for reactivating a series of projects of the institution, making its approval fundamental. In this context, governmental authorities and Idaan representatives are seeking a prompt solution to be able to continue with the planned initiatives and ensure the proper functioning of water supply services in the country.
