Carnival Displacement of 65,000 Passengers Expected

During the Carnival festivities, it is expected that around 65,000 passengers will travel to the Caribbean islands and the Panamanian Pacific. In light of this situation, the Panama Maritime Authority (AMP) has deployed 140 inspectors to ensure safety and compliance with regulations on vessels.

The AMP inspectors will be supervising passenger movement at the busiest maritime terminals in the country, such as the La Playita dock in Panama City and the Fuerte Amador dock on the Amador Causeway. Their task is to verify that the vessels meet safety requirements and have the proper documentation to operate.

According to the director of Merchant Marine of the AMP, this action is part of a special operation implemented for Carnival, with the goal of preventing incidents and ensuring that passengers travel safely to their destination. Additionally, it aims to supervise that the vessels comply with established regulations and have the adequate capacity for the number of passengers they transport.

Amid the Carnival celebrations, it is essential to ensure that safety measures in maritime transport are strictly adhered to in order to avoid any eventuality. The presence of AMP inspectors at the main maritime terminals in the country helps maintain order and prevent risks during this festive season.
