The Great Transport Terminal is experiencing a massive exodus to the interior of the country due to the Carnival festivities. Departures of 45,000 passengers were recorded on Thursday and another 15,000 by midday Friday, with an expectation of reaching around 80,000 travelers by the end of the day.
To meet this enormous demand, routes have been strengthened with additional units, including external buses, as local vehicles are insufficient. The terminal administration and various routes ensure that transport will be available until midnight to transport passengers.
Travelers are advised to bring safety equipment, a backpack, medications, sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses due to the intensity of the sun, both indoors and in the capital. Travelers who arrived early at the Herrera area have expressed their excitement for the culecos and the festive atmosphere.
Additional buses have been organized to especially reinforce the routes to popular destinations like Las Tablas. According to a route spokesperson, there has been a constant flow of passengers with a lively and festive atmosphere. One passenger mentioned: “We come to enjoy the Carnival in the central province, specifically in Herrera.”
In short, the Carnival atmosphere is already felt, and the Great Transport Terminal continues to work hard to facilitate the transfer of thousands of people to their festive destinations. One excited traveler commented: “I am going to enjoy at the villa.”
