Disappearance ends in tragedy: Body of 60-year-old man found

In Panama, in the province of Chiriquí, in the Veladero area, near the road to El Retiro, the body of 60-year-old Demetrio Chacón, who had gone missing the day before, was found on the bank of a stream. On November 15, Chacón's wife reported his disappearance to her neighbors, and they jointly initiated a search operation. The body was located at around 2:50 PM yesterday. Apparently, the elderly man was surprised by a strong current of water that dragged him away, causing him to drown. His body ended up on a fence, where it was found by local residents. Units of the National System for Civil Protection (Sinaproc) collaborated in the recovery of the body. It fell to the Personero of Tolé to coordinate the procedure for the body's removal, which was subsequently sent to the judicial morgue in David, where a standard autopsy will be performed to confirm that the death was indeed caused by drowning.
