Three Dead in Two Separate Traffic Accidents in Panama

The early morning hours of Sunday, November 23, were stained with blood in the provinces of Veraguas and West Panama, following two traffic accidents that claimed the lives of three people and left an equal number injured.

At the first light of dawn, a brutal collision on the Inter-American Highway, at the height of La Soledad in Veraguas, resulted in two fatalities and three seriously injured. This fatal traffic accident involved a green sedan and a mule-type truck. The causes of the accident are to be determined by experts from the Public Ministry's Accidentology Unit and the National Police's Traffic Operations Directorate.

Hours later, specifically around 6:00 AM, another fatal accident was reported on the Arraiján-La Chorrera highway, at La Arboleda de Cáceres. A sedan became embedded in the rear of a truck. It has not yet been determined whether the incident was the fault of the sedan's or the truck's driver.

In a separate incident, a black vehicle fell down a ravine, and the driver, 48-year-old Cristian Alexander Gradanos, died after his vehicle left the road and fell. The man was returning to his home via the Arraiján-La Chorrera highway in West Panama after his work shift at the Panama Canal Authority (ACP). National Police Traffic units found the driver's body face down next to the overturned car.

All traffic incidents were attended to by paramedics from the Single Emergency Management System (SUME), who were responsible for declaring the victims dead and transporting the injured to a medical center.
