Copa Airlines launches contest to design team plane for 2026 World Cup

Copa Airlines has launched the "El Avión de la Sele" contest, inviting the public to design the livery for a real Boeing that will carry the Panama national team to the 2026 World Cup. The winner will be chosen from five finalists by a panel of Panamanian artists and creatives, who will evaluate creativity, visual impact, and the 'spirit' of the team and the airline. The winner will not only see their design fly around the world but will also receive a trip for two, including tickets to Panama's first World Cup match, airfare, hotel, meals, and transportation. In short, a complete, all-expenses-paid dream trip. Contest rules require keeping the Copa logo in its place, properly using the Fepafut crest, and respecting the color palette. Proposals can be submitted on elaviondelasele.com from November 24 to December 10.

"No national symbols, external brands, or direct references to FIFA or the 2026 World Cup," the contest rules state. Marco Ocando of Copa Airlines said the airline wants the people to paint this dream, because no one is more passionate about the national team than the average Panamanian. The grand winner will be announced on January 23, 2026, on Copa Airlines' official accounts.
