Panama Launches Gun-for-Food Program

Starting this Monday, December 15th, the program 'Guns for Food, Medicine, and Appliances' will begin, a simple initiative with one clear goal: fewer guns on the streets and more food on the tables. The Governor of Panama, Mayín Correa, stated it bluntly and without lengthy speeches: anyone who brings a gun will receive coupons in hand, without having to give their name or explain where the weapon came from. Because the streets need to breathe too. 'We pay what is due, no questions asked,' Correa stated, making it clear that the goal here is peace, not stories. The initiative has the support of all security forces, and this time the exchange is broader: there will be food, medicine, and appliances. One less gun, one more peaceful family. From a blender for the home to a stove missing from the neighborhood. The dates are set, because this is not a promise, it's action: Monday, December 15 – Cultural Center of Colón Friday, December 19 – Grand Station of San Miguelito Monday, December 22 – La Doña Shopping Center The hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The deal is direct, without judgment, without fear.
