For thousands of students who did not pass all their subjects, there is still a chance to catch up. The Ministry of Education (Meduca) confirmed that enrollment in the Academic Recovery Program will take place from December 29, 2025, to January 2, 2026, a key process to avoid losing the school year. The information was provided by the Deputy Minister of Academic Education, Agnes De León de Cotes, who explained that each student can enroll in up to three failed subjects at a cost of $7.00 per subject. A sacrifice that many families undertake with the hope of seeing their children advance and not fall behind. De León de Cotes stated that the list of schools authorized for the validation is available and can be consulted on the official Meduca website, so that guardians can check in advance where they need to process the application. Regarding the teaching staff, the Deputy Minister clarified that teachers hired for the recovery process must be part of the bank of eligible candidates, although non-permanent teachers will also be invited, with the aim of covering the demand and ensuring the program's development. Additionally, she made a direct call to parents: if during the holidays they move to another educational region, they can enroll the student in that region, thus avoiding losing their spot or delaying the process. Classes for the Academic Recovery Program will be held from January 5 to February 6, while final exams will be administered from February 9 to 11.
