National Fair Season to Kick Off with Boquete Flowers and Coffee Fair

Panama's national fair season begins January 7, 2026, with the 53rd Boquete Flowers and Coffee Fair. The event expects over 200,000 visitors and an economic impact of 20 million balboas, creating 200 direct and 2,000 additional jobs. Other fairs are also planned across the country in January.


National Fair Season to Kick Off with Boquete Flowers and Coffee Fair

The national fair season will kick off on January 7, 2026, with the opening of the 53rd edition of the Flowers and Coffee Fair, to be held in Boquete, Chiriquí province, reported the Ministry of Agricultural Development (MIDA). The head of MIDA in Boquete, Osiris Bocanegra, stated that the work on the agricultural pavilion is quite advanced. According to MIDA, this space will host an exhibition of vegetables produced in the locality, highland fruits and coffee, in their various presentations and processes, as well as informational stands. Bocanegra added that MIDA has also scheduled a producers' meeting for January 15, as well as a vegetable harvest for children in the community on Sunday, January 18, starting at 2:00 p.m. The president of the board, Tomás Ruiz, stated that they project the visit of more than 200,000 people, who will be able to enjoy 37 themed gardens with photo spots. This event generates an estimated economic impact of 20 million balboas for the national economy, in addition to the creation of about 200 direct jobs. This is in addition to approximately 2,000 additional jobs generated by artisans and participating companies. In addition to the Boquete fair, in the month of January, the Tourist Fair of Playa Pixvae will be held in Veraguas, the Watermelon Fair in Calobre from January 23 to 25, and the Santa Fe Fair from January 29 to February 2. The calendar also includes the San Sebastián de Ocú Fair in Herrera from January 21 to 25, the La Chorrera Fair in West Panama from January 21 to February 1, and the Orange Fair in Penonomé, Coclé, from January 28 to February 1.
