The Urban Cleaning and Household Waste Authority (AAUD) has launched a new plan for the San Miguelito district. AAUD administrator Ovil Moreno announced that the plan was designed by professionals with over 45 years of experience in the field. He assured that the plan is in place and that daily operations will begin on Monday to stabilize the district's situation. Moreno pointed out that they will start from eleven different points to cover the entire district. The operation will involve 70 inmates who will assist with cleaning at various locations. "We will be operating daily with compactors, dump trucks, excavators, garbage trucks, and small machinery," he added. One group will work from Estrella Azul to the San Miguelito bridge, another will go to the El Bosque area, a third to Los Andes Mall and the Pedregal bridge to cover the 500, El Crisol, Villa Lucre, and San Antonio areas. "We have devised a well-designed plan, and I am confident that the results will speak for themselves," Moreno emphasized. He explained that in about 10 days, the schedule will be Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; and Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Sundays will depend on the progress of the plan, which he said does not worry them as it is based on experience gained in the Panama District. Regarding the cleaning fee, Moreno stated that it will not increase. They are currently in talks with Ensa to manage the billing process. He also clarified that any increases in customers' bills were due to Revisalud requesting payment for the 18 days of January in which the service was provided. "We have over 25 macro-routes that are divided into micro-routes to cover the nine townships," noted the AAUD administrator. Since January 1st, over 10 million pounds of waste have been removed from the district. "In the coming days, we will enter the centers of the townships," he specified.
