The Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) announced the approval of 30 additional round-trip flights between Panama and Toronto, Canada, following successful meetings with Canadian aviation authorities.
With this achievement, the Civil Aviation Authority reaffirms its commitment to managing agile and strategic solutions that benefit users and strengthen Panama's presence at major international events.
The measure comes as a direct response to an extraordinary request from Copa Airlines, in order to cover the increase in traveler demand generated by Panama's sporting commitments at the World Cup.
The AAC explained that the decision responds to the massive interest of Panamanian fans to follow the National Team to the FIFA World Cup to be held in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
This agreement was reached after, on January 19, the Director General of the AAC, Rafael Bárcenas, submitted a new formal "Government to Government" request, reiterating the need to expand current flight frequencies to ensure that fans have transportation options to Toronto.
According to the entity, the flights will be valid exclusively between June 13 and 28, 2026.
