A serious accident occurred on Sunday afternoon on the Inter-American Highway, near Corona in the San Carlos district of West Panama Province. A gray van collided head-on with the bridge barrier, resulting in one death and three injuries. The driver lost control for unknown reasons, swerved into the opposite lane, and one occupant was ejected after the impact with the structure, dying at the scene. The injured were evacuated to the 'Dr. Juan Vega Mendez' polyclinic in San Carlos by SUME 911 ambulances. According to initial reports, three men and one woman were in the vehicle.
