Traffic Control Operation in Panama for Carnival

Ahead of Carnival, Panama province will implement a two-phase traffic control. The operation starts Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. and continues Wednesday at 7:00 a.m. A third phase will cover the Pan-American Highway. Details from Major Celestino Reyna.

For Carnival Tuesday, traffic control in the province of Panama will be implemented in two phases, starting from 10:00 a.m. The first phase will cover the stretch from Las Uvas entrance to Sajalices and from Campana to Burunga. For Ash Wednesday, the measures will begin at 7:00 a.m. at the same locations. The third phase will be introduced on the Pan-American Highway from Sajalices to the Las Uvas entrance. Traffic control operations for travelers heading into the country's interior have already begun, confirmed by Major Celestino Reyna, director of Planning for the National Police Traffic Department. According to Reyna, this operation, aimed at facilitating the flow of traffic, started at 7:00 a.m. from Avenida de los Mártires to the Panama Pacifico entrance and from Burunga towards the Campana area. On Saturday, a two-phase traffic control is planned from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the Burunga-Campana and Sajalices-Las Uvas stretches. "Monitoring by our team will allow us to extend or shorten this operation as needed," clarified Reyna, who also mentioned that similar measures have been planned for Penonomé. Reyna stated on the 'Reporte Estelar' program on Kw Continente that the same system will be used on Carnival Saturday when vehicle traffic towards the interior intensifies.
