Allegedly, Alemán tried to break up a fight that broke out at the location, and during the incident, he was shot. Alemán was a member of the Panama Association of Boxing Judges and Referees (Ajabox) and was affiliated with the World Boxing Council (WBC). In recent years, Alemán had also become known on social media for posting humorous videos and motivational reflection messages.
Jesús Antonio Alemán, who was an independent candidate for representative of the Juan Díaz district, died yesterday afternoon after suffering multiple gunshot wounds. According to initial reports, the incident occurred during the inauguration of a sports league on 19th Street in Ciudad Radial. Another version indicates that the shots were fired after some of those involved in the fight left and returned minutes later, opening fire indiscriminately. Unofficial reports suggest the victim received at least seven gunshot wounds.
