The Ministry of Culture of Panama has launched its first short film competition aimed at young people aged 18 to 25. The objective of this initiative is to promote cinematographic and audiovisual activity in the country.
The competition offers a total of 80 thousand balboas in prizes for participants. Interested individuals can register their works in different categories such as fiction, animation, documentary, experimental, and video art.
According to statements from the Minister of Culture, this competition seeks to promote emerging talent in the field of cinema and provide a platform for young Panamanian filmmakers to showcase their creations.
"We are excited to launch this competition that will allow talented youth from our country to showcase their creativity and potential in the world of film and audiovisual," highlighted the minister.
The selected short films will be exhibited at various events and film festivals both nationally and internationally, providing significant visibility to the participants and their works. The registration period will extend until December, and high participation is expected given the growing interest in cinema among Panamanian youth.
