According to local authorities, these accidents occurred in various parts of the country, mainly in areas where there was a high influx of vehicles due to the Carnival festivities. Most cases were attributed to distractions while driving, speeding, and alcohol consumption.

One of the spokespeople for the traffic police commented on this: "Unfortunately, during this festive period we have seen a significant increase in the number of traffic accidents, resulting in an alarming number of victims. We urge the population to drive with caution and respect traffic regulations to avoid tragedies like these."

Authorities have reinforced speed and alcohol checks on the country’s roads, as well as awareness campaigns to promote road safety among the population.
