Guararé, Los Santos. Today, history was written in this town. After years of waiting and seeing how people had to go to other districts to seek medical attention, the National Government officially handed over the new Carlos Ugalde Health Center, a project that will benefit more than 15,000 residents of Guararé. The infrastructure was inaugurated by President José Raúl Mulino Quintero, accompanied by Health Minister Fernando Boyd Galindo, who highlighted that this project marks a before and after in public healthcare in the region. For decades, the community had to make do with limited space and little technology. "The Ministry of Health reiterates that it will continue to bet on a country where health is a right and not a privilege. Guararé, from today, beats with more hope." Today, that changes. The new center will open its doors on Tuesday, December 9th, with services such as a clinical laboratory, outpatient consultation, pharmacy, pediatrics, social work, dentistry, psychology, emergencies, general medicine, and other essential areas for the town's health. The project had an investment of nearly 8 million balboas, and according to the authorities, "it belongs to the people and must be cared for as such." Minister Boyd Galindo also sent a direct message to the health staff: "May this building not be just cement and walls, but a place where every patient is treated with dignity and warmth."
