An 18-year-old man is in stable condition after being shot in the thigh in Colón, Panama. Police are investigating the unprovoked attack.


Man Shot in Colon in Apparent Unprovoked Attack

An 18-year-old man, Yonathan Reyes, was shot in the right thigh in the San Juan area of the trans-isthmus of Colón, Panama.

According to reports, the violent incident occurred at 1:05 a.m. this Saturday at the entrance to the Santa Cruz community, in an area known as El 20.

In the initial investigation, the victim stated that he was in a parking lot when an unknown individual suddenly shot him.

National Police agents arrived at the scene and found the young man injured. He was transported to the emergency room of the Nuevo San Juan Polyclinic in the Buena Vista area for medical attention.

It is reported that Reyes does not reside in this district but in Chilibre, North Panama. Authorities are investigating the motive for the attack, which appears to have been unprovoked.
