The Ministry of Health reported that as of epidemiological week #47, from November 16 to 22, 2025, Panama has accumulated 14,905 confirmed cases of dengue, a figure that has put authorities on alert and the population on edge, watching any puddle in their yard.
The report highlights that a total of 1,453 people have required hospital care, while 25 Panamanians did not manage to overcome the disease, leaving their families in mourning.
Regions with the most cases
The situation is tough almost everywhere in the country, but there are areas where the mosquito is putting up more of a fight:
- Metropolitan Region: 4,588 cases
- San Miguelito: 2,585 cases
- West Panama: 1,584 cases
- North Panama: 1,419 cases
- Chiriquí: 869 cases
- Bocas del Toro: 820 cases
- Veraguas: 546 cases
- Los Santos: 515 cases
- Colón: 439 cases
- Herrera: 429 cases
- East Panama: 387 cases
- Darién: 335 cases
- Coclé: 303 cases
- Ngäbe-Buglé: 71 cases
- Kuna Yala: 15 cases
By districts, Tocumen takes first place with 1,026 cases, followed by:
- 24 de Diciembre: 899 cases
- Belisario Frías: 608 cases
- Belisario Porras: 549 cases
- Ernesto Córdoba Campos: 377 cases
Most of those affected are between the ages of 10 and 49, meaning young, active people who work, study, and are on the move.
