The Ministry of Health, through the Department of Epidemiology, reports that as of epidemiological week No. 51 (December 14 to 20, 2025), a total of 15,832 cumulative cases of dengue have been registered nationwide. Of this figure, 14,037 are non-severe cases, 1,687 have warning signs, and 108 are severe dengue cases. The report details that the Metropolitan Region leads the list with 4,815 cases; followed by the San Miguelito Region with 2,754 cases; Panama West with 1,665; Panama North with 1,487; Chiriquí with 910; Bocas del Toro with 892; Veraguas with 561; Los Santos with 554; Colón with 492; Herrera with 488; Panama East with 434; Coclé with 351; Darién with 338; Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca with 75; and Kuna Yala with 16 cases. Hospitalizations To date, 1,566 patients have required hospital treatment. Fatalities To date, a total of 27 deaths have been recorded, corresponding to the regions of Chiriquí (6), Bocas del Toro (4), Panama Metro (3), San Miguelito (3), Darién (2), Panama East (2), Coclé (2), and one each in Los Santos, Herrera, N. Buglé, P. West, and Colón. National incidence rate According to the report, the national incidence rate in epidemiological week 51 of 2025 is 346 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Cases by district Confirmed cases by district are as follows: Tocumen with 1,060 (Metropolitan); 24 de Diciembre with 948 (Metropolitan); Belisario Frías with 681 (San Miguelito); Belisario Porras with 558 (San Miguelito); and Ernesto Córdoba Campos with 390 (Panama North). The majority of cases are recorded in the 25-49 age group; however, the most affected group is 10-14 years old. The Ministry of Health continues to intensify operations nationwide through its vector control team to reduce dengue cases and insists on community participation to eliminate all mosquito breeding sites around and inside homes. The ministry also urges the population to eliminate all unused containers that can accumulate water (cans, bottles, tires, etc.), and to regularly clean the surroundings of houses. In addition, the population is advised not to self-medicate and to go to a health center.
